Our Leather

Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather is artisan crafted, the process has been handed down from father to son for over 200 years. Using a combination of both antique recipes and state-of-the-art technology, raw hides are transformed into a luxurious, supple material. The leather absorbs the traces of our living, gently ageing, revealing natural beauty while maintaining it’s strength.

Vegetable dyes are made from natural tannins found in different plant life. These tannins are found in bark, leaves, wood, fruits and roots. They are non-toxic, recyclable and environmentally friendly.

Once tanned, large wooden drums are used to tumble the hides, softening them while enhancing the beauty and individuality of each piece. This process takes place in Italy over nearly 40 days.

Full grain leather products are unique and easily distinguishable. The leather is not split or bonded with synthetics or glue, meaning it will not harden, crack or tear. Instead it will last a lifetime, only getting better with age. The more you wear your favorite pieces, the more unique they become.

You can only make a superb product if your first step begins with the best raw materials, and there is no leather crafted better than Italian, Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather.
